MC Puck
Ahmad Al Khalidi (born January 25th, 1987), better known by the stage name MC Puck, is a Jordanian rapper and music producer with Palestinian roots. He was born in Kuwait City, Kuwait and raised in Amman, Jordan. His songs are the mirrors of his soul and are reflecting everything he stands for. Ahmad is taking care of the production and the recording of his own songs, and also produced for many other rappers, such as Ostaz Samm, Psycholas, Majzarah, OneVoiz... Early life Ahmad Al-Khalidi was born in 1987 from Palestinian parents. His family moved in 1990 back to Amman to escape the ongoing conflict between Iraq and Kuwait. During his teenage years, Ahmad discovered his passion for Hip Hop and in 2000 he started writing. Shortly after this, he created a band with his cousin. The band performed at private parties, but in 2004 they participated in the Shabeeb Festival for Local Talents. Although the competition was hard, they claimed first place. After the victory, Ahmad started taking piano lessons and learned to compose and produce his own music. The next year, the cousins joined the Shabeeb Festival again, and left all the competitors behind, winning the competition for the second time. In summer 2007, MC Puck and his cousin participated in a project called “Sharq Music”, a project which aimed to gather the best Hip Hop artists in Jordan under one name. During that summer, he performed a few times with these artists, then, later that year, the cousins decided to split up the band, and MC Puck continued solo. A year later, MC Puck was invited to join another local Hip Hop crew. In that summer, they had some great live shows, such as Amman Summer Festival, and Souq Jara. The crew saw their hard work rewarded. In 2009 they released a song called “Le’ajleke Gaza” (For you Gaza) which became a big success, and then they performed twice in Al Balad Theater alongside Autostrad Band, and Gries from Switzerland. Later that year, MC Puck decided to go solo. Collaborations In 2009, MC Puck released 2 tracks: “Istiqaleh” (Resignation letter) and “E5tfe” (Dissapear). Rami GB, a Palestinian Rapper/Producer, and the founder of the rap portal mmdrap.com participated on E5tfe by recording the intro and the chorus. MC Puck also performed a song with Ostaz Samm called “Battalet A7is” (I stopped feeling), produced by Damar, which was performed several times live but was never recorded. The next year, MC Puck hooked up with the Lebanese Hip Hop artist Big-A, who was working on his album. They decided to drop a track together on the album, called “FREE X press”. MC Puck’s track “Ta5ayyoli 3an Waqi3i” (Imagination of Reality) was featured on 2 mixtapes: “Jeeran Music” by Jeeran.com and “U.N.I.T.Y.” by the French record label 962 records. Other projects In 2009, MC Puck partnered with Community Development Committee (CDC) Zarqa Camp and Contact Theater, a Danish Cultural Organization, together with Ostaz Samm to give workshops in the Zarqa Refugee Camp. The goal of these workshops was to teach the youth from the camps to rap and to produce Hip Hop music. In 2011, MC Puck finished school and graduated as 3D Animator at Al Quds College. Finishing school means that he can now totally focus on his music career. Currently, MC Puck is producing songs for other artists and working on his debut album.
